Invinity Energy sells battery system to provide power in US

Invinity Energy Systems PLC – London-based energy storage company – has sold a 1.3 megawatt-hour Invinity VS3 flow battery system to Kinetic Solutions LLC to use in a microgrid, providing power to a data center in Arizona, US.

The sale is for an undisclosed sum. The battery system will be installed alongside a 400 kilowatt-hour of solar PV at a data center. Kinetic will use the Invinity battery system to operate the data center on renewable power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and mitigate the effects of power outages. Expects shipment of the battery solution for early 2023.

Kinetic is a distributed energy solutions provider, specialising in renewable microgrid infrastructure for commercial and industrial sites across the US. The sale comes after a report published by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, which called on US energy regulators to review the impact of data processing plants on national and federal energy networks.
