Strong Energy launches residential lithium iron phosphate battery

Strong Energy has announced that it will start selling its all-in-one battery storage system “ALFRED” in Germany from October. The Cologne-based company, which is owned by China’s Skywoth, already presented the product at Intersolar in Munich and now also at the IFA show in Berlin.

Strong Energy’s new lithium iron phosphate battery storage system comes with a nominal capacity between 12 kWh and 24 kWh, depending on whether five or ten battery modules are installed. The nominal output of the photovoltaic storage system is 10 kW. Strong Energy states in the product data sheet that the maximum charge-discharge power stands at 12.5/11.3 kW and 15/11.3 kW respectively. The European efficiency is 97 percent.

It is a lithium iron phosphate battery storage system with a nominal capacity of between 12 and 24 kilowatt hours, depending on whether five or ten battery modules are installed. The nominal output of the photovoltaic storage system is ten kilowatts. Strong Energy states the maximum charging and discharging power for “ALFRED 10” in its data sheet as 12.5/11.3 kilowatts and 15/11.3 kilowatts respectively. The European efficiency is 97%.

The battery storage system has two MPP trackers and protection class IP65. The maximum photovoltaic input voltage is 1000 V. The product also has full inverter power in emergency power mode. Strong Energy does not provide any specific information on the price.

A spokesperson said that the battery storage system is a “very competitive solution in a competitive market”. The exact price also depends on the number of orders. The spokesperson also pointed out the reduced installation time when setting up the storage system. In addition, it has been “thoroughly tested and certified in Germany”.

Strong Energy offers a ten-year warranty on the battery and a five-year warranty on the inverter. The company has warehouses in Germany and emphasizes that it also offers German-speaking pre- and after-sales support for customers. Pre-orders of the home storage system are already possible.

Strong Energy chose the name for the product in reference to Nobel Prize-winning inventor Alfred Nobel. Other products will also be launched under this brand in the future.
