Bravo Motor Company Brasil Energy SA has announced the signing of a Protocol of Intent with the Government of Bahia and the Municipality of São Sebastião do Passé for the installation of the first Battery Gigafactory of Lithium in Latin America, one of the most modern in the Americas. This milestone represents a significant advance in the energy transition and sustainable economic development of Brazil.
The Protocol of Intentions aims to facilitate, support and promote the construction of this Gigafactory, which will produce lithium battery cells for electric vehicles and energy storage systems (Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS). These products are essential to guarantee Brazil’s leadership in the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy.
The Municipality of São Sebastião do Passé, the main promoter of the project, signed a protocol of intentions that includes the donation of a 400 thousand m² piece of land, strategically located on the banks of BR 324, 50 km from Salvador. This land, with excellent connectivity to ports and other federal highways, will expand as the project evolves its production capacity, providing the ideal base for the start of the Colossus Cluster.
